KAREL GOTT

Karel Gott (born July 14, 1939 as Karel Gott) is a Czech singer, as well as an amateur painter. Gott, sometimes nicknamed The Golden Voice of Prague, has been voted the best male singer i.e. a winner of an annual national contest in Czechoslovakia or the Czech Republic (The Golden/Czech Nightingale), 35 times.

He sold over 30 million records and became one of the first multimillionaires in the socialist Czechoslovakia and gained fame in the German-speaking world, too. “Lady Carneval” was his first single.
